What I’m about to say may come as an agreement
to some, a disagreement to others and a surprise to all.
There are many who think that I’m going to say
that Brown is going to be another Republican to follow the rest of the GOP’s in
their way of doing things … of blindly saying “NO” to anything and everything
that the Democrats put before him without a thought as to what is there before
him … just for the sake of stopping anything the Democrats put forth.
There are many who may think that I’m going to cry foul
that the Democratic Candidate didn’t win in a State that has been so solidly
Democratic for 40 years, even with the late Senator Teddy Kennedy’s widow and
President Obama stumping for the candidate.
There are many who think I’m going to whine and snivel
about the fact that the Democrats no longer have a solid, no filibuster,
majority in the Senate, making it harder for them to get anything passed
between now and the Mid-Term Elections this coming November.
On all these points … you would be dead wrong! I feel that this is not only a wakeup call
to all Democrats, but to the Republicans as well. It wasn’t just Democrats that got President Obama elected and it
wasn’t just Republicans that got Senator Brown elected … it was the
Independents!
That’s right folks … I said “The Independent Party” are
the ones that put both into office!!!
Well now, I hear some saying that these “Independents”
must be some pretty fickle people who can’t seem to make up their minds. Again, you would be dead wrong! They have not only made up their minds, they
are telling both parties that you are no longer the Power Forces you used to be
... and think you still are.
“The Independent Party” are a fast growing group of people
who are tired of all the childish bullying going on in the Capital Building by
“both sides of the aisle” concerning anything and everything … forgetting that
they are not playing a “one-ups-man-ship game” against each other … you idiots
… you are playing with OUR lives!!! My
Representative or Senator hasn’t “spoken” for me or my family’s needs. They have only spoken for their Party and to
hell with what their constituents want.
I’ve been watching most of the Democrats in Congress push
stuff through, no matter what was tacked on to it … just because they
could. It reminded me of what the
Republicans did when they had full control of both houses and the White House …
ramming whatever they wanted through … no matter what was tacked on.
That’s right … you BOTH are guilty of doing this to the
American People … and we are the ones that have suffered for it, so don’t
either of you puff out your chest with that “Holier than Thou” look and wagging
fingers of blame … instead you should hang your heads in shame for acting like
unruly school children … and not the level-headed adults you are supposed to
be.
The people of Massachusetts didn’t vote for the Republican
Party … they voted for the man … Scott P. Brown. The fact that he was a Republican, had nothing to do with
it.
Coakley made the mistake of thinking that she could just
ride on into the Senate on the coattails of Ted Kennedy. Ted Kennedy was “The Lion” … a respectful
title given to him by those in both parties … a respectful title he
earned! She just assumed that she would
get the seat. Never “assume” anything
when it comes to the voice of the people.
The Republicans “assumed” the American People wouldn’t
elect “a Black Man” and “assumed” they would be going against Hillary Clinton …
then “assumed” picking Sarah Palin would take all the women that were going to
vote for Hillary would vote for them.
They were wrong and they lost.
Coakley “assumed” she would win … and was wrong. Now the Republicans are “assuming” that the
Brown win will mean they will be able to block anything and everything that the
Democrats throw at them … no matter the merits of whatever it is. I have a feeling they are going to be
“assuming” wrong.
Why, you ask, do I feel this way? It’s simple. I think Senator Brown is going to follow the Party in some ways,
but think on his own in others. I
didn’t hear so much about how he was a proud Republican and I did him
applauding the merits of those that came before him, no matter their party. I didn’t hear about him saying “I’m
Pro-Life” because he was afraid if he didn’t, he wouldn’t get the
Christian-Right vote (as I have seen so many of the other GOP’s do), but stayed
by his own convictions and voice, stating that he was “Pro-Abortion Rights” … a
statement that have meant a death sentence to a Republican’s career in the
past.
He has shown that he is a man who is not afraid to say
what he feels or thinks, even if it goes against what his party thinks all
should stand for. He’s even proud of
the fact that he was a (very good looking) model for Cosmopolitan. Any other politician would try to hide that
fact … or not run because of it. He
didn’t … and he is right to be proud of it.
He did nothing wrong nor immoral by posing for that photo when he was a
young 22 year old Law Student.
The main thing we need to focus on … he did NOT get voted
into office by the Republican Party nor The Democratic Party … but the
Independent of any Party voters … a group that is growing faster than you
think. They are neither Republican nor
Democrat … so the politicians in both of those parties better think twice
before they “Assume” what the American People Think and how they are going to
Vote!
